FREE FILM SCREENINGS in WICK - Saturday 5th September 2026
Entry to the films is free thanks to funding by the Caithness & North Sutherland Fund.
Venue: The Pulteney Centre, Huddart Street, Wick KW1 5BA.

SMHAF Highland Short Film Screenings from 2pm - 5pm  
The afternoon will feature a programme of short films, followed by a Q&A with filmakers, practioners and people with lived experience. 
Films include:

  • Caithness ExMAP - HUG (Action for Mental Health)
  • Upstream - The Canmore Trust
  • Fragments of Us - Mikeysline & Ross County Football Club
  • Flip of the Coin SCIO
  • Green Tree Arts Studio
  • Hand to Hand - Befrienders Highland
  • Shredding Pixels - Skateboarding Community

This will be followed by a Q&A exploring the stories, experiences and ideas behind the films, with an opportunity for the audience to share their thoughts and join the conversation.

Discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Jacob attempts to resume life in Edinburgh, control his schizophrenia and be a worthy member of society. Frustrated by this banal existence, Jacob sets off to the Highlands in search of fulfillment.
Riptide is a beautiful road journey with a fabulous soundtrack - a captivating story of friendship, connection and discovery.
